QR Code Lead Capture

Printed material usually leaks its best moment. Someone reads a leaflet, a stand banner or a carton, is interested, and has nowhere to put their details. A lead capture QR code closes that gap: the scan opens a hosted form at the code own address, the visitor gives an email and whatever fields you asked for, and the record lands in your dashboard attributed to that specific code. Attribution is the part that pays for itself — you learn which stand, which mailing and which pack insert actually produces contacts, rather than which one felt busy. Consent is recorded as an explicit checkbox, the email is encrypted at rest, and a signed webhook can hand the lead to your CRM the moment it arrives.

Hosted lead capture codes are part of the Business plan. On Free and Pro, a Link Hub form or newsletter block collects leads the same way.

Every lead knows where it came from

Leads carry the QR code or Link Hub that produced them. Filter the inbox by code and a trade-show scan is separable from a packaging scan without asking the visitor which one they were looking at.

No landing page to build

The form is hosted at the code own short address. There is nothing to design, nothing to deploy, and no dependency on a marketing site you may not have access to when the print deadline lands.

Consent captured, not assumed

The consent checkbox is part of the form and its value is written onto the lead record. When someone later asks what they agreed to, the answer is a stored field rather than a reconstruction.

Email encrypted at rest

Addresses are stored as a keyed hash for lookups plus an AES-256-GCM encrypted copy, decrypted only for members with write access. A deletion request removes a row rather than chasing copies across a spreadsheet.

Straight into your CRM

From Business, a signed qr.lead_captured webhook fires on each capture, retried on a 1m / 5m / 30m / 2h backoff and dead-lettered after five failures. The REST API reads the same data on your schedule.

Also from a Link Hub

Form and newsletter blocks inside a Link Hub write into the same inbox, which means lead capture is reachable on the Free plan through the one hub it includes.

Fields you choose

Define the extra questions on the code — company, role, product interest, whatever qualifies a lead for you. Answers are stored as structured fields, and the email is kept out of that column entirely.

Export when you need it

The Leads screen exports to CSV from Pro, with a captured-at timestamp, source flow, QR code, email, consent flag and the field answers. Formula-injection defence is built into the CSV builder.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to connect a store to use these QR codes?

No. Review, wholesale inquiry and loyalty codes serve a page hosted by QRCode Suite at the code’s own address. There is no store to connect, no plugin to install and no CRM to wire up — which is what lets you print one on a carton or a receipt for a channel you do not control.

Where do the responses go?

Into the Leads inbox in your dashboard. Every submission is timestamped and attributed to the QR code that produced it, so you can filter by code and tell a trade-show scan from a packaging scan. The inbox exports to CSV.

Which plan includes them?

The Business plan. Review Collection, Wholesale Inquiry and Loyalty Reward are Business-tier QR types; the free plan covers dynamic URL codes and a Link Hub.

Can I change the form after the code is printed?

Yes. These are dynamic codes: the printed image points at a redirect you control, so you can reword the prompt, rename the product or reward, or switch the extra fields on and off without reprinting anything.

Is the email address always required?

It depends on the flow. On a review form the email is optional, because a rating and a comment are useful on their own. On a wholesale inquiry and on a loyalty claim it is required — the first needs a reply address, the second trades the reward for a contact.

How is consent handled?

Every hosted form carries an explicit consent checkbox stating that the details are stored so you can get back in touch, and the consent flag is saved with the submission. Scans are recorded with hashed IPs rather than raw addresses, on EU infrastructure.
